Customs stole my dowager empress coin from the mail. Man I walked around Li Jiang searching through buckets of old coins for two hours for that coin, trying to pronounce Ci Xi with the correct tones for all the shop keepers etc. Well it turns out its a cultural relic and I was supposed to apply for permission to "import" it into Australia (rather than carry it in my suitcase when I come home). China is totally against letting them leave the country even though any foreigner can buy one so I don't know what will happen to it, customs will probably send it back to China with sincere apologies where some official that doesn't give a sh/t will pass it on to his poor peasant cousin who will then sell it again for half a cent to a foreigner at his road-side stall in eastern Yunnan.
