I'm getting a USB cable for my camera which means WAIT FOR IT
I'll be able to POST PHOTOS ON MY BLOG!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm tossing up whether to stay (relatively) anonymous or not. I'm leaning towards staying put and just posting photos of boring crap that I take when I'm bored, like my new glasses for example, or my room. Coz I'm sure all 10 daily readers of my blog want to see what my room looks like. ALSO my camera can take short movies, which means I can put shit on YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So how was my day today well I was on a mission to impress with my superior organisational skills but I was once again confronted by impatience on the part of one of the consultants. I had to print out many many invoices and he complained that it was affecting the timing of the more important print jobs, i.e. HIS. Because of course, the print jobs of the HUMBLE RECEPTIONIST aren't nearly as LIFE OR DEATH as HIS print jobs, now are they?

You see, this is how you get treated when you're the Office Girl.

I looked up Management Consultancies in the Yellow Pages today to do some preliminary research for job hunting for when I get back from Korea (IF I go). There's one called Hay Group which is global, but they only take people with 2-3 years experience. But it's something to aim for.

On Sunday I saw my grandmother, she said I was ambitious, but really, I'm a small fish in a big pond in this city.

Anyway I find out about Korea next Friday.... yay!

I have made a new friend called Olya, we had lunch in Bondi Junction yesterday. Her baby is sooo cute! Makes me want to have a baby. Man, I have a friend who's married, and a friend who has a baby... jesus! Everyone's getting all family-oriented on me! Yikes! Speaking of shit like that, there's this guy on rsvp.com.au (disclaimer: which I only joined for FUN!) who I've been chatting with via email and he loves travel and wants to start his own 'socially responsible' business one day... Anyway we'll see how that pans out. Most likely it won't, of course.

I feel sorry for my younger half-brother Ben. He gets picked on at school, and his mother refers to him as "the boy".

Today I went to the food and wine festival and Hyde Park. Spent $7.50 on a raspberry and marscapone tart that asbolutely everyone around her was eating aswell, and half way through, dropped in on the ground like a little kid with an icecream. FUCK! Man that stung.

**************************

Clare sat at her desk writing emails. She was a taking photos of herself with her new glasses on but didn’t like the way she looked. She didn’t look like the women in magazines – she had a thick nose and a strong, almost masculine jaw. Everyday she regretted her overbite, and the time the dentist recommended she get braces but her mother refused. But she was not only hard on herself but on everyone else aswell. She examined everyone around her and evaluated how attractive they were and how slim they were then compared it to her own appearance. It was not only appearance that she judged about other people, it was their mind, aswell. For this reason, she was constantly afraid of people being equally judgemental about her, and strove everyday to be a flawless person, at least in her own eyes. She was therefore afraid to be herself. In her pursuit to be a perfect person, she made it her mission to get along with and be liked by everybody, but was quick to decide whether she liked other people or not. Once she had decided, it was hard for her to continue being nice to them. But she tried. She had little patience for people who lacked common sense or a sense of humour, and to lack both would be a travesty. She knew she was a snob, but tried to appear otherwise. It was the dilemma between being herself, and being someone she would like to be. She herself hated snobby people, but alas, she was secretly one of them.

The Store Manager of OPSM-->>>
Borrowed three Chinese movies from Blockbuster tonight hoping to come home and have a mini-Chinese movie festival. The first two were such crap. They weren't proper Chinese movies and they were an insult to the Chinese movie industry. But the third was good, it was call Red Firecracker Green Firecracker. It was supposed to be 'erotic' but there were like two scenes in which they kiss and then jump into bed, and that was all. But it took me to another place and reinforced my distorted, orientalist view of China and the Chinese.
I picked up my sexy new glasses today. Tried to politely tell the boss I was unhappy with the way they never offered me the cheapest option and after trying to deny it ever happened, therefore indicating to me that she indeed had something worth denying, suddenly became excessively defensive before demonstrating how crap the lenses I ordered were, 'especially with such a nice pair of frames'. I nearly composed a letter to OPSM, but I'll let her get away with it this time.

Idealists
The four aspects that make up this personality type are:

Summary of Idealists

Make sense of the world using inner values
Focus on personal growth and the growth of others
Think of themselves as bright, forgiving and curious
May sometimes appear stubborn
More about Idealists

Idealists put time and energy into developing personal values that they use as a guide through life. They may seek fulfilment by helping others improve themselves and often want to make the world a better place. Idealists only share their inner values with people they respect.

Idealists are the most likely group to say they are vegetarian, according to a UK survey.

Idealists enjoy discussions about a wide range of topics, particularly those that deal with the future. They are typically easy-going and flexible, but if their values are challenged they may refuse to compromise.

In situations where they can't use their talents or are unappreciated, Idealists may have trouble expressing themselves and withdraw. Under extreme stress, Idealists may become very critical of others, or lose confidence in their own ability to cope.

Recognition for their work is important to Idealists; however, they are also good at spotting false praise.

Idealist Careers

Idealists are often drawn to jobs where they can help people reach their potential. They are also attracted to careers that allow artistic creativity.

The stupidest thing I've ever seen

So I walk into the kitchen, and there are a million cups and mugs sitting on the bench not put in the dishwasher. So I say to the person in the kitchen, 'the dishwasher's not full yet' and she says the sign said not to touch the dishwasher. I have no idea what she's talking about, and someone points out the changeable sign sticky-taped to the front of the dishwasher saying 'do not touch, dishwasher in use'. I laugh, and say 'well, can't argue with that, can I?' but then I realise, all these people who left their mugs on the bench, must have read that sign, and decided not to 'touch' the dishwasher. The alternative sign that gets put into the plastic slip stuck to the dishwasher says 'put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher'.
1. Why do people need a sign to tell them whether they are permitted to put things in it, when most people over the age of 5 can tell when a machine is operating judging by the flashing green lights and obvious humming sound emanating from said machine?
2. Why do people pay such strict attention to this sign when common sense dictates that in the middle of the day the dishwasher is not likely to be operating or full of clean dishes?

Stupidity at its finest.
Anyway I was in the kitchen again, and I nearly said "I think this sign is a stupid idea" but forced myself to bite my tongue and walked out.

And the people here generally speaking are a bit weird. Mostly nice, but mostly weird. One guy came up to reception with an Express Post envelope and stared at me earnestly till I got off the phone. Then he asked who does the mail. The girl who has been doing reception is away today, and I am the only one here. NEWSFLASH BUDDY, ME! Who did he think was going to do the mail? This doesn't sound like a big deal, but he had this overall attitude problem. Like, he's like, 'where are the express post envelopes' and I started looking for them, because alas, only having been here two days, I did not know. He became impatient with me, and came behind the desk to start looking for them himself. He looked in the cardboard box where we throw scrap paper for recycling, as if they definitely had to be there, but I was too stupid to look. I said 'that's the recycling bin'. He's like 'oh'. Then he sat down and bent over the envelope to write on it and his face was about 4cm away from the desk.

Now, I think I undertand what people mean when they talk about 'interpersonal skills' - nobody wants a fucked up arsehole working at their work, but the truth is, there will always be fucked up arseholes in this world, and they all want jobs. I think the way a person treats the admin person says alot about who they are. So be nice to your measly litte apparently uneducated, dim, dumb, slow, bimbo of a receptionist.

Oh another thing which seems to be a recurring theme in the world of admin.
My supervisor came up and explained that she wanted me to ring these people and find out if we still had an outstanding bill with them. It took roughly seven minutes for her to explain what she wanted me to do. Actually doing it, took about a minute and a half. I just don't get it.

The temping agency mysteriously lost my tax file number and I was therefore taxed $200 this week which was an oh-so-pleasant surprise especially upon learning that I can't get it back till next year.
There's another moron at my work at the moment. There were no morons at the interior design place. I'm getting used to working with a whole 'range' of people and I think it's very useful experience, although I'm not interested in working with morons in the future.
Yesterday I had to compare a list of files with files on the shelves. I was instructed to first write out a list of the files that were on the shelves, then go back to my desk to compare it with the printed list. I suggested I just take the printed list and tick off the ones that were on the shelves. I don't understand the logic here, but my supervisor said no, it was important that I be at my desk to answer the phone, "because that's why you're here, to answer the phone for Susan". I'm ever so glad she felt it necessary to enlighten me to this fact. Anyway, I spent just as much time at the shelves away from my desk writing out that stupid list only to return to my desk and spend another hour comparing them. So that is how my second day went - acknowledging that I was once again surrounded by morons. Take the phone list for example - instead of it being in alaphabetical order so that you can immediately find who you're looking for when someone asks to be put through to them, it's actually arranged in numerical order by line number. What bloody use is that?
SIGH. I'm become a fucking reception expert at this point and I think there is a market for someone to visit a company and point out all the things that are stupid.

I'm sending off my Korea application today. It's all in the envelope waiting to go.
Yesterday I decided I wanted to apply for a grad position with the department of energy, utility and sustainability but it starts in late January and I possibly won't be here so I can't apply now.
This new job is a bit boring, it's in Bondi Junction and I have become slave-girl to the girl who normally does reception. Basically I'm here to lighten her load, and that involves doing all the usual Office Junior jobs like errands, and the dishwasher. But so far there has been no opposition to my checking emails etc when there's nothing to do. The worst part about working in Bondi Junction is that I have to walk about ten whole minutes to the bus stop, as opposed to simply crossing the road to catch a bus to the city. And it's uphill. But on the plus side, Olya comes to BJ all the time so we are going to have lunch, and the bus home only takes ten minutes.
For uni all assignments are DONE YIPPEE and now I've only got two exams left this semester, and two and half more years of assignments and exams as of March next year. I'm seriously considering doing three subjects next year just to speed up the process. I'm wondering if I could handle going to uni three nights a week and increasing the work load by 50%... 3 subjects is almost full-time. I think I might go for it anyway, life's too short to worry about such trivialities!
1. 2 subjects
2. 3 subjects
3. 3 subjects
4. 4 subjects. (full-time)
Sounds like a plan. And that makes it only two years. I've decided to only do one specialisation, in Organisation and Management Studies, because if I ever did research, that's what I would want to do it in.

Expensive Taste
I went glasses shopping today. Was unknowingly upsold to special 'invisible' plastic lenses for $170, didn't even know. Checked the receipt, rang them back, and politely told them I didn't want them and saved myself $70. As for the frames, picked out Prada ones, because hey, I'm 22, and it's my face, dude. The first place people look. A worthy investment! And honestly they were the only ones out of the small selection that were in the shop that didn't look half bad. It's hit and miss with glasses. Can't wait to get rid of these old scratched and broken ones I've got now.

Work update - didn't get work today, rejected work that they offered me on Friday because the pay was too low. Me and Shani were talking about what I would do all day today and she suggested I go shopping, and I said no that would be like earning negative money. But alas, that is exactly what I did. Well this week coincides with the expected week of getting my tax return..................................

Musings on the Overprescription of Antibiotics
At first I thought it would be 'cool' to be prescribed penicilin ('scuse the spelling) but then thought 'no, i promised myself i would never take antibiotics unless i really needed them'. It's true - especially for tonsilitis, which I read is not a life-threatening condition, and goes away by itself in less than a week - why not let your immune system do what it was supposed to do instead of fucking around with it? Now, the poor guy with the arm in Requiem for a Dream was in dire need of some antibiotics. But I didn't need them. But alas there goes $20 down the drain and now I have two little bottles of penicilin tablets which I will never use unless I go on a botanical research expedition in the Congo and accidentally um eat a mushroom or something... I think.
The only thing you need to treat with tonsilitis is the GOD DAMN PAIN, which happens to be subsiding thankgod, and I don't know if it's the four tablets of antibiotics I took in desperation to make the pain go away ASAP, or just the fact that it's only supposed to last for a couple of days anyway.
I know I'm repeating myself, but that bloody doctor promised me Advil would make the pain go away completely, which was totally wrong, and once again I woke up in the middle of the god damn night wishing I could grab a knife and rip out the offending tonsils aswell as the swollen lymph nodes in my neck myself and be done with it.
Which brings me to the point - how do you convince a doctor of how much pain you're in without sounding like a junkie? What if you're really in considerable pain and the doctor just thinks oh no, it's only tonsilitis, she'll be right, and I fucking had to take a very EXPENSIVE day off because I knew I couldn't function while every second of the day was spent dreading the next time I would have to swallow?

Wednesday, October 18, 2006

I took the day off work today because I have tonsilitis which is really painful. My mouth is also ridden with ulcers and I asked the doctor for something for the pain and she recommended Advil which you can buy over the counter. Has she ever had tonsilitis and four mouth ulcers at the same time? I can't eat for the pain which is a great way to lose weight but we all know I'm going to stuff myself as soon as I can.

The loser at my work is still a loser. Yesterday as I was about to leave and my computer was half way through shutting down, she asked me to make a meeting room booking for her. I said I'd write the details (on a post-it ;-) )and do it in the morning. She said
You will do that for me, won't you? Of course you will.
Then walked away. This morning, she came to made sure I had done it, and also asked me to make another booking. She stood and waited till I had typed it in until going back downstairs. Now, is it just me, or does she have a few little trust issues? Maybe she can tell how much of a loser I think she is? Maybe I just can't hide it very well. Anyway, if she condescendingly calls me 'dear' one more time like I'm ten years old and she's my aunty or something, I'm fucking out of here.

I stayed up till 4am last night finishing off 'The Devil Wears Prada' and was still awake as the sun began to rise.
It had a great feel good ending and I stayed awake hoping one day I have a great story to tell that I could turn into a bestselling book... sigh... I'm definitely one of those people who believe theu have a book inside them...
By the way, it has come to my attention that your IQ plateaus at around age 25, and that therefore leaves me with 3 years to become as smart as possible for it all goes downhill from there. So many books to read... so many blogs to post...!
Marissa has turned into a little user, sucking up to me for example yesterday when I came home, as she needed some nice earrings to wear. I brought out my whole jewellery box excited at the prospect of taking her through each item and telling her the story behing everything, but once she chose a pair she made it quite clear that she was finished with me.
I have taken a passive approach to her immaturity, lack of respect (which is probably my fault) and occassional bitchiness (e.g. I was raving about how good the first episode of series 3 Lost was so good etc and she was like "Yeah but Liz did you even watch series 1 and 2?") and continue to give her fashion advice and tell her she looks great before she goes out like I'm her big sister or something. I mean, that's what it feels like - even though I'm less than a year older than her I feel as though she's still about 18 years old. I guess that's the way she acts. And hence the passive approach - I'm beyond it and just see her for who she is.

There was more than that but I don't want to fill my blog with it.

5 or 6 years ago, my sister Melanie would tell me I had no fashion sense.
These days, my flatmates are actively seeking my advice and opinions on what they wear. Strange feeling. When have I ever been an authority on anything? For example, Marissa wanted to wear a red dress with black tights and black heels, with a wide white belt around her waist. I told her she can't wear a white belt with black leggings and shoes, and now she's not going to wear the outfit anymore. She had been planning to wear it out on Saturday and wants to look beautiful in order to tantalise the guy in her taekwondo club who she has a crush on. And the other night Shani was deciding what to wear to her thesis presentation and I had to tell her she couldn't wear a grey striped shirt with a beige skirt and we finally settled on a black skirt, a white shirt, with a black vest and black shoes, which I thought looked perfect. (I'm lending her the shirt and skirt.) Maybe I could forge a career in fashion... um... in Asian fashion...

Never take your unscarred skin for granted. I've had this big scar on my right upper arm for about two years now and I forget that I once had two normal, clear upper arms. Now that it is summer, this patch of skin is going to turn a very very dark brown and stand out like nothing else. It doesn't bother me - like, I wouldn't go getting it lasered off or anything, and it tells a story - but it brings home the irreversibility of the progress of life, and the way that everything you do in life stays with you forever.

Hmm in other news there's this dick at my work who came upstairs yesterday with a list of 3 names written on a post-it, telling me that those were the only three people downstairs and please stop directing calls to anyone else downstairs, because noone is there, and the phones are 'going mad'. My supervisor stepped in and enlightened her to the fact that people were calling their direct lines, and I hadn't been directing any calls downstairs. In fact the phone had only rung about four times in the past hour. If my supervisor hadn't stepped in and defended me I don't know how I would have reacted, because this woman is a total loser and there's something wrong with her.

Ahhh, bitching about work.

Intrigue at 122 Pitt St
This invoice from a supplier arrived by fax on Friday and it didn't say who it was for so I sent an email out to everyone so that someone would come and claim it. No one did, so on Tuesday I sent out another email on request from my supervisor including the details of the invoice so that someone might recognise it. Then the boss, who generally acts like all his subordinates are bad people who need to be told off, told me to tell him as soon as I found out who "fessed up" to the invoice. So he was assuming somone was doing a shifty on him somehow. Anyway someone took the invoice from my desk while I was at lunch and when the boss asked about it I told him it just disappeared. And then get this - he asked me to do his dirty investigative work by calling the sender of the invoice and asking which person they were dealing with. Then I had to ring him back and tell him who it was. I mean, if he cares so much about finding out who this apparently evil, bad, naughty person is he could just do it himself. On that note he also got me to photocopy a pile of about ten sheets of paper, which required it to be put throught the feeder on top of the machine and it took about one minute, and he was already at the photopcopier doing work anyway. But I had to rush downstairs and do it for him anyway. It's like when the guy at the taxi industry place left a letter on my desk for me to put in an envelope and stamp. You see, according to my judgement, the amount of time it takes to walk to my desk, leave the letter on my desk, wait for me to return, and then explain what you want done with it, would take longer than grabbing a fucking envelope and doing it yourself. It just doesn't make sense. When it's actually not worth delegating, but you delegate it anyway, you are no doubt on a power trip of sorts, and are giving someone something to do just because you can.
And there you have my economic treatise on stuffing envelopes.

Here is my speech for tomorrow's class:

Intercultural Communication and Emotional Intelligence
In this presentation I would like to talk about the concepts of intercultural communication and emotional intelligence, drawing from my own experiences and observations from living in a culture different from my own and forming an understanding of the meaning of emotional intelligence. The issue that I want to explore with you may seem a little controversial and less than politically correct, however I will also argue that it is worth consideration nonetheless.

There was a passage in our reading brick which read like this: “women tend to be more finely attuned to non-verbal cues, as are those with high Emotional Intelligence. Similarly, many eastern cultures rely heavily on non-verbal cues.” According to deductive reasoning: Premise A is that people with high emotional intelligence are more finely attuned to non-verbal cues. Premise B is that Eastern cultures rely heavily on non-verbal cues. So can we deduce that people from eastern cultures therefore have higher emotional intelligence?

Countries of this region would be China, Taiwan , Korea, and Japan. After my experiences studying and working in Taiwan, I learnt a lot not only about intercultural communication but also about Chinese culture itself – many would agree that in Chinese culture a lot of importance is placed on Face, which is generally speaking a consideration of personal dignity and self-respect. Saving Face, for example, requires one’s feelings to be considered and respected in day to day interactions. While I became more adept at communicating smoothly and effectively with those from a different culture, I honed my non-verbal communication skills as I gradually realized that body language and paralanguage, which means the meaning which is conveyed by the way something is said as well as what is said, carries more weight. I began to pick up on non-verbal and indirect communication, and after a few misunderstandings, learnt to a certain extent how to adopt indirect communication techniques as well. Friends who had lived in Taiwan for extended periods of time told me that this is what I needed to learn in order to become an efficient cross-cultural communicator. One example of indirect communication I encountered just when everything had started falling into place was:

When I was teaching English in a kindergarten in Taichung, I would spend half an hour in each of three classrooms, hopping from one to the next. It required me to leave the first classroom a couple of minutes before the half-hour mark in order to start the next class exactly on the hour or half-hour. I didn’t do this at first, and arrived a few minutes too late as a habit. Then one day, I noticed the clock in the next classroom had been moved forward by an obvious amount of time, and that when I would look up and be puzzled, the teachers would look at me, then look at the clock, then back at me. If I hadn’t already been living in Taiwan for a year, I would not have noticed these non-verbal cues which form an example of an indirect way of saying, “please start your class on time”. I embarked on further investigation: I asked my 12 –year old private English language student Petunia if she thought the Chinese were less direct than Westerners. I told her about the clock example at the kindergarten. In my next lesson with her, she got back to me with the reply, that that was simply a sign of EQ – emotional intelligence. But alas, I thought, surely there are people in Australia or America or France for example with high emotional intelligence who would simply ask directly? I had stumbled across a little problem evaluating the scope of emotional intelligence – is indirectness a sign of emotional intelligence?

Observations made during my 18-month long sojourn in Taiwan as well as my readings in cross-cultural communication allowed me to form the tentative conclusion that people from Eastern cultures, including Chinese culture, were generally more indirect. As I said earlier, it is controversial to make such a generalization. Is it true? Who can really say? I asked earlier if we can say that indirect communication was a sign of emotional intelligence. According to Slavoney and Mayer, “emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, to integrate, to understand and reflectively manage one’s own and other people’s feelings.” Non-verbal cues and indirect communication, serve to protect the feelings of the receiver of the message, because the message is being conveyed more subtly and gently.

Then I would argue that yes, indirect communication is a form of emotional intelligence. But emotional intelligence generally means being a competent communicator. A culture relying more heavily on non-verbal cues probably just implies that their communication styles are different, rather than better or worse. In fact, my German language teacher told me back in highschool before our class took off to Germany for a cultural exchange, that another culture is never better or worse: Just different.

I have a busy week this week. Last night I was at Olya's working on our group assignment on HIH till 9.30. In 2 and a half hours of work, we managed to get 300 words out! (on the ethical issues of HIH's corporate culture...) Tonight I've got class and then somehow I have to write up my speech which I have to do in tomorrow's class...
Been reading on the UNSW careers website how to 'network'. I have a plan already. But I'm not going to start until when I get back from Korea... THAT's if I get it! hehe. I filled out the application form yesterday. In the question about career goals I said I wanted to offer cross-cultural consultation services to ogranisations embarking on operations in the Asia-Pacific region, as there is a need and demand for greater cultural understanding of our neighbours' cultures in view of the increasingly global outlook of businesses today...
It turns out Sydney Uni has a M Commerce program aswell. God I'm dumb. You know I think in highschool they should teach you what kinds of courses there are because when I was an undergrad I had no idea that I could do another degree post-grad that wasn't related to my undergrad.
I got in trouble at work this morning, I was doing uni work and forgot to unload the dishwasher and check for faxes. So she came and lost it a little bit. Then I heard my supervisor complaining about having a student in as a temp doing uni work. Well at least I know it's not personal. I'm just another 'student'. Now I have to hope that the consequences of an iminent bad rap will not be as far reaching as affecting the rest of my career. So, hey, I'm just not a good office girl, but who the fuck wants to be? Does it say much about my overall abilities? So I sat at my desk, staring at the wallpaper on my computer, not doing uni work, not surfing, and realised there was nothing else I can do about my situation until I get back from Korea (IF that happens!!! hehe) and have the chance to find something permanent. That's when I get into the 'networking' side of things. If it's networking I must do, then it's networking I shall do. But it's sad to think you are making new acquaintances with a specific objective in mind. What happened to making friends for the sake of making friends? Well that's gone out the window. I think what they mean is that possibly you make friends along the way...

I'm not doing Chinese classes this semester so that I can go skiing at least a couple of times in Korea (THAT'S if I get it).
I've officially burnt three CDs with music from my teenage years. And I took all my old CDs, and took out only the songs I really liked, and put 'em all on.
I stayed at Rose's last night.
Today I'm catching up with Ben, a Sydney Uni friend who was in 3rd-year Chinese. He's such a nice guy. I rang him out of the blue (after a year, pretty much) to ask him to come fix my computer, but it's too late now, because I've got one that works, but we're catching up anyway. He asked me last night if I would help him dig a hole. Intrigued, I enquired further into the purpose of the said* hole. He's digging an underground carport at a property his parents bought. He said it would take him a couple of years, but it would be fun to get some help and hang out etc.

*Use of the word said: Just like I have adopted 'awesome' as my new word, Fi has embraced this particular use of the word 'said' into her lexicon and now apologises for using it as it is no longer funny.

Welcome to the revolutionary new look of Love at First Web Site.
Just realised there's nowhere for a title. Ah well. The title is still copyrighted!

I'm smoking in my room. Naughty.
It's time to move out I think. An old uni friend is moving into this house some relatives own where she won't have to pay any rent. She's going to ask them if she can have a flatmate. Fingers crossed!
Group meeting tomorrow. Yuk. Don't know anything.

As it has come to my attention that 'awesome' is the new and improved, 'cool' way to say 'cool', I have taken it upon myself to say 'awesome' at least five times a day, 10 when hanging out with people I wish to impress.
Also, it has come to my attention that the China Business Scholar program might be quite difficult to win despite the fact that they give three out.
-MUST
-WORK ON
-CHINESE

It costs 56,000 won t go skiing in the nighttime in Seoul. That's only $80. Or $100 for the whole day. That's only two fifths of my weekly budget. Looks like I just figured out what I'll be doing with myself if I get to go to Korea!! But alas I'm getting ahead of myself. On November 10 I'll be posting either the good news or the bad news.

Welcome. For Taiwan posts see March 2004 - Jan 2005. Enjoy!! Do leave a comment - I feel loved.
