The temping agency mysteriously lost my tax file number and I was therefore taxed $200 this week which was an oh-so-pleasant surprise especially upon learning that I can't get it back till next year.
There's another moron at my work at the moment. There were no morons at the interior design place. I'm getting used to working with a whole 'range' of people and I think it's very useful experience, although I'm not interested in working with morons in the future.
Yesterday I had to compare a list of files with files on the shelves. I was instructed to first write out a list of the files that were on the shelves, then go back to my desk to compare it with the printed list. I suggested I just take the printed list and tick off the ones that were on the shelves. I don't understand the logic here, but my supervisor said no, it was important that I be at my desk to answer the phone, "because that's why you're here, to answer the phone for Susan". I'm ever so glad she felt it necessary to enlighten me to this fact. Anyway, I spent just as much time at the shelves away from my desk writing out that stupid list only to return to my desk and spend another hour comparing them. So that is how my second day went - acknowledging that I was once again surrounded by morons. Take the phone list for example - instead of it being in alaphabetical order so that you can immediately find who you're looking for when someone asks to be put through to them, it's actually arranged in numerical order by line number. What bloody use is that?
SIGH. I'm become a fucking reception expert at this point and I think there is a market for someone to visit a company and point out all the things that are stupid.
