I"m turning this blog into a channel for boredom-induced rambling, as all good blogs are, with no particularly exciting content such as Look I'm In Taiwan I Am A Hero etc etc.
Well today I woke up and went to pick up my new glasses. I also looked for a shirt at Best and Less. I also went to the library and looked up different books. At Gosford library you look up certain books and it says they are there, but they're at another branch. I checked to see if there were any Chinese tapes and there weren't. Then I came home and had a nap, then I woke up and had a fag, then ate a pie and a banana and had a poppa. Then my old favourite TV show came on, the Magic Arvo or something like that, so I laughed at that a bit. Then I realised I still have another day of nothing until I go to my sister's on Saturday oh god no. I looked at the TV program and it said 6:30 Pride and Prejudice. I looked down to see what channel it was on, and it wasn't there, then I realised they were talking about what was on pay TV only. So I got my hopes up for about 5 seconds.
I hopped on down to uni the other day. The economics as a social science lecture which I sat in on (or do I say in on which I sat?) was about capitalism. I also imposed myself on a French class and liked the teacher and the other students. Then I came home and tried to look up Industrial Design on the TAFE website.
We are one but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We share a dream
And sing with one voice
I am You Are We Are Bored Out of Our Fricking MindsCha la la la laCha la la in the morningCha la la laCha la la in the spring timeMy heart goes cha la la la Cha la la la just for youCha la la la just for youDah-dah-dahThere's a place in your heart and I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try you'll find there's no need to cry
And this place you'll find there's no hurt or sorrow
There are ways to get there if you care enough for the living
Make a little space to make a better place
Heal my Lungs
Take all the tar out
Puff in and puff out
And my lungs are all smoked out
There are globs of phlegm
That occassionally come out of my throat
Make them better again
Coz they're all smoked out
They're all smoked out
Heal the lungs I breathe with
Save them for tomorrow
Heal the lungs I breathe with
Save them for tomorrow
fade out...
Can you look me in the eye
na na na naaa
And tell me that you're happy now
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Can you tell it to my face
Or shall I make some space
For my new gut yeah
na na na naaaa
I'll go and paint a picture now.
Love,
Me
Hello here I am back in sunny Australia where the air is beautiful and clean and I'm hanging out with my cat eat meat pies and sausage rolls everyday. Uni started the other day, still don't know if I'm going to stay, my life is a little up in the air at the moment but Bonnie the cat keeps me company.
I came home on the 23rd of Feb which was earlier than expected. After Kashgar headed to Chengdu via Golmud. Was going to go to Tibet but as I was about to fork out for the ticket I realised I couldn't withdraw that much from my bank account and so hung out in exciting Golmud for a long boring day then got on a long tormented train trip to Chengdu which is a great city and which I highly recommend yay. There's a nice river that runs through it, clean, and my hotel was right next to it. Chengdu is a clean city too, no litter and not a weed to be found. Most importantly, the cafe in front of the hotel was great. Never ended up going to Shanghai goodammit, next time eh. My Chinese ain't much better than it was before I left, I got to practise heaps in China but I won't flatter myself eh.
Anyway I miss Taiwan, wish I had never left! I miss my dear scooter, the seven-elevens, my flatmate, and the food, which kind of ties in with the seven-elevens but oh and the two-dollar cigarettes. I turned into a heavy smoker when I got back and here they're the equivalent of NT$220. Yikes!
