Ah I forgot what I was going to write. Oh well.
In other news, I've spent yesterday and today lusting after Kuba. Something's come over me, and I'm going bonkers. I think I'm addicted to him after seeing him over xmas and the other day. I hope he messages me today. Otherwise I will stay at home in front of the tv, agonisingly horny until I pass out from exhaustion.

New Year's Eve is Sunday (der) and the flatties and I are picnicing at Circular Quay. We were going to take champagne to pop open at midnight but we fear it will be warm by then so we are sticking with red wine. A bottle each. Should do us. I invited Kuba to join us for a drink. I hope he does. And then we go home and bonk. hehehe. Man I don't know what's come over me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Why I am Dumb"
By Eliza Stonemason, B Smart M Very Smart

Since my car got broken into, I've had to go in through the boot and open the front door from the inside. Miss Genius 2006 (aka me) decided to do a reverse park this morning, backing right up against the wall in the carpark, and locking the front door behind me.

It dawned on me at lunch today. I haven't checked to see how close the car is to the wall yet, but I have two options - squeeze into the boot somehow after opening it as far as it will go, and calling the NRMA, and telling them why I can't get into my car.

Ah well.

The PA who organised the xmas lunch (i.e. Mrs I Obviously Think The Kirribili Yacht Club Is Too Good For You Because You're Not Invited Despite The Fact That You a) Were Under The Impression That Everyone Liked You and b) Are Here For Two Months. Oh And By The Way Did I Forget To Mention My Daughter Is A Lawyer?) is away for the week.

I'm going shopping with The Kubster tonight. I'm feeling a bit attached to him at the moment. We're having a 'no strings' relationship, it seems. Because since I asked him out and he said no, I've seen him heaps!

Fuck I've got two more boxes of stapling to do. Oh, and the agency's not paying till Friday. You know, I think out of the year that I've lived at Mulwaree, I've actually paid my rent the day it was due maybe 4 or 5 times. Seriously.

Merry christmas everyone.
Got some cool presents. Yay, presents are cool.
Last night watched DVDs with Kuba, after scouring the streets of the CBD for a bottle shop that was open. So we stuck with tea.
So, these movies! The first one was Kenny, which was really good. Not sure if it was all supposed to be real-life or what. But very entertaining.
The next one. Oh! The next one. "The Piano Teacher."
WHOA.
I found it absolutely fascinating, not sure if it was coz I was stoned or not, but perhaps that just enhanced an already awesome movie. Another great French film. Those French really know what they're doing sometimes.
The third one was boring in comparison. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. What more can I say?
Xmas at Dad's was the usual. I showed Cheryl the smoked trout I brought and she stuck up her nose at it in disgust. Now that I can see her from an adult's perspective, it is clear to me just how badly she lacks class. She's man what's the word? Fuck I need to read more. Any lower, and she'd be a prostitute. No sense of culture whatsoever. For her, the 'finer' things in life must be limited to Indian food at Castle Towers while Ben goes off to buy five more video games, and some new, faster way of getting fat, like a new flavour of Ski Divine available at the local supermarket.
Had an interesting chat with Kuba today about his wild stories with the Polish mafia and his forays into Warsaw's brothels, where apparently one hour is about 30 Euros. Just like in the movies, he was once given 24 hours to hand over $10 000, threatened with broken bones and god knows what. They drove him into a forest and everything. Here his life is relatively boring - he sorely misses these 'amazing' parties the mafioso had which were basically night-long or even week-long orgies of vodka, cocaine, and prostitutes. I'm dying to write the gruesome details, at the same time providing a fascinating insight into Kuba's mind, but it's my blog unfortunately, not his. What I find weird is that he is such a sweet gentleman! Must be either Polish culture or his Catholic upbringing.

I'm giving god one chance to prove he exists. I'm going to pray every night for this job, and if I don't get it, it means there is no god. Easy.

Anyway the guy that was "very keen" to see my CV is from SMEC, Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation, who do infrastructure stuff all over the world esp. in Asia and the Middle East. Becky's boss said to emphasise project management experience, and I told Becky that 'that will be quite hard' seeing as though I [ahem] DON'T HAVE ANY. But she said to 'stretch it' as much as I could. She's optimistic - I don't know enough about PR to turn a reception job into something that even vaguely sounds like project management!! (apart from changing 'Receptionist' to 'Client Relationship Manager'.) Oh I'm laughing and crying at the same time.

Did I do my best with my resume? What else could I have said? What if I didn't go far enough? Should I have just made stuff up? Come to think of it, I'm sure people do. I even wrote in the skills section that I have a high level of critical thinking skills because "I got a High Distinction in my Critical Review for Business Communications". Now, if that isn't going far enough, I bloody give up.

I'm praying for a miracle.

I can see the headlines:

"Arts graduate gets job in engineering firm - Stop the Press"

"Ex-checkout chick discovers the power of networking" (well acutally this was unintentional networking)

"Studying Chinese finally fucking PAYS OFF for lowly receptionist"

Of course, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Calm down. I'm certain nothing will happen, but it's fun getting excited about it. I wish I could call the SMEC man and just talk to him. Introduce myself, have a chat, maybe offer him free sex... oh shit did I just say that out loud?

Well I called Becky in Canberra to get the number of the guy she sent my resume to so I could do the follow-up call. She gave it to me, and said he'd be back in a couple of weeks.
Then she rang back and said her boss wanted details about my masters course. So I sent them to her. Then, her boss sent me an email telling me how to re-do my resume and then to resend it, and that she'd send it on to people in Sydney aswell. Didn't think much of it. I was going to wait till I got home but Becky rang me and said I should do it ASAP because the guy in Sydney was interested, and she mentioned something about project management in China or something...
So I went feral, nearly screamed at this computer because it's so damn slow... had to go to the UNSW website to make a list of all the subjects in my course etc etc, had to open my resume again... getting impatient... the phone was ringing and I cut people off...
I hope something good happens!!!!
Everybody PRAY for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ella came over yesterday. We had pizza and wine and watched a doco on spam. Then there was another one on Ecstasy which was very accurate.

How to Spend the Day on Reception
by "Eliza Stonemason". Bachelor of Very Smart, Master of Fucking Genius OK?

First, you will need to get up early enough to remember to pack one of the mangoes you bought on the side of the Hume Highway on the way back from Tumut. 9 for $12. Not outrageously cheap, but cheap enough to buy. There is currently a plastic bag full of mangoes sitting on the kitchen bench. I offered one of my flatmates some, but he has this masochistic shyness about him which prevents him from accepting people's generosity.
Second, you will also need to carefully select one of the chocolates from the box that your awesomely awesome sister Kate created for you. Full of every chocolate you could imagine. Don't forget the little tub of Vittoria drinking chocolate. When the admin girl comes to relieve you for a tea break, you can pull it out of your bag, and start a conversation about it, with the ultimate aim of showing off about what you got for christmas, how you spent your weekend, and who you spent it with.
Third, pack a book for the long, lonely afternoon you will endure once you have finished the daily envelope-stuffing which is always finished by midday the latest.
Now, you are ready to leave for work.
Yesterday you were too poor for a weekly bus ticket, so you should have at least $1.40 to get to central (using the travel concession from your time as a full-time student for eight weeks earlier in the year). You were also too poor for a weekly train ticket, so you buy a one-day return through the city.
On the train, you hold your breath for as long as you can so that you don't breathe in the BO that is swirling around you.
At Milson's Point the train doors open and you take a deep breath in.
At 9.05, buy that one coffee that you have promised yourself you would stick to. Contemplate what would happen if you asked the friendly barista out: Would he already have a girlfriend? Is he already too old for you? No, you're too shy to do that. Mission aborted. But he makes a damn good coffee, and it only took him three coffees to remember what your 'usual' was.
Now, checking emails is your absolute number one priority. This must be undertaken in a professional manner. Feel free to reply to emails, but don't forget those gas bills that need to be stuffed in envelopes! All 200 of them. Next time the phone or electricity bill arrives, think of the poor Master's student sitting at some desk somewhere who stuffed your bill into it's envelope without giving it a second thought. Ask yourself, why is she (probably a she) stuffing envelopes for a living? Does she like it? Does she spend all day brooding about it? Does she feel like she's betraying women all over the world by agreeing to fill an admin/clerical support/menial/repetitive role which is always filled by a woman?
Emails checked, envelopes stuffed - it is now time to boogie on down with the Crunch bar hiding in your handbag and the hot styrofoam cup of Earl Grey. Yes, that's right, it's just you, the chocolate, and the internet, alone in a room together.
In the afternoon the admin girl comes out with a bottle of white wine for you - she got two from a client, and would like to share the joy. She also brings you a 2007 diary with the company logo on the front in gold letters. Not bad.
Throughout the day, you are obliged to answer that 'damn' phone.
"IT please"
"One moment"
"I haven't received my gas"
"One moment"
"Mr Marky Mark please"
"One moment"
and so on. You remain chirpy, because in an effort to redeem yourself from that experience at Elton, your are giving it 110%. The UNSW careers site says ("Confucious say") that whatever you do, do it well. Logical. But it's quite hard. When you spend all day brooding about how you're stuffing envelopes.
Home time. You are usually busting by 5.30, because your last break is always at 3.30 because all the accounts girls who could relieve you go home at 4.
You have a few options. Go home, have toast for dinner, watch Drawn Together with flatmates, and go to bed. Your other option is to have a personal training session in Greenwich. Your trainer is a fucking professional, and you become paranoid he is going to hate you for asking for 'mates rates' when you hardly knew him. Then you feel pathetic that you need to actually pay someone to motivate you to exercise. But fuck is it worth it.
Alternatively, you could meet your flatties in the city where you are going to do the christmas walking tour. You have succeesfully persuaded them to go to the classy cocktail bar (with table service) above the Establishment. All the rest, you shall 'play by ear'. If you, as usual, end up filling the leadership vacuum, you will end up being very, very drunk somewhere, the pennies you had put aside for the much fabled Beijing - London trip all pumped back into the local economy.

Back in Tumut, yay!
Got here last night at 10, and happily found everone still up with visitors drinking and having a gay old time. Received a royal welcome, Shane and Kate and Hunter had a literally raced to be the first to give me a hug :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Got drunk, woke up this morning and after gulping down a glass of water watched it come back up again and more.
Haven't seen my bile in a while. Nice to know it's still yellow and acidic, still effectively working hard down there in my stomach to mulch all my food. I think it's an interesting experience to have your bile come up to say hello, if you are curious about something that is such a vital function inside your body.
But throwing up is absolutely awful, and once again I thought of Catina, who told me she never put any weight on because she 'exercised' in her room at night when everyone was asleep. Sometimes I fantasise that I had a spare million dollars around that I could give to her family so they could send her to one of those clinics that cost several thousands of dollars a day. Why should it be so expensive to save a life? Granted, Catina didn't want to get better - at all. But if she did eventually die, you could say that more was done than relying on the public health system where she became a monster stealing food from people's rooms and begging money off other patients' visitors. She asked me if I thought she could be a model. Man. For her to get better, a nurse would have had to handcuff themselves to her 24-7. I'm sure there was plenty of ethical debate over Catina's case, or perhaps they already had a set of guidelines - eg. 'we know she throws up but this is a free country' and 'she wants to die but there's only so far we can go to stop her'.

I just worked out that approximately one eighth of my life has been blogged* - 33 months out of a possible 258. Time has been preserved somewhat, although I read some of the earliest blogs and not really remember exactly how it was. Ah well, my grandchildren can glean what they like from it. I wish my grandma had kept a blog - that would be an awesome insight. "Today I came first in the Commonwealth in English and celebrated by going to church in downtown Colombo..." (first bit was true apparently).

*I'm at work and therefore bored.

Reading this...

There is a big difference between smart and "high achiever". High achievers tend to be demanding, pushy and opinionated - and in many cases aren't that smart.

I consider myself a pretty smart bloke, but no way am I a high achiever. While I enjoy the company of smart men and women, high achievers are just too much work!

Posted by: krammer at November 22, 2006 9:45 PM

http://blogs.smh.com.au/lifestyle/samandthecity/archives/2006/11/do_men_like_sma.html

is like slipping into a hot, lavender-scented bubble bath after a long, strenuous day at work stuffing envelopes.

Now, by 'high achievers' we're talking about the extra-curricular kings and queens of the university campus (whom I mentioned in an earlier post... [but I'm not bitter I swear!]) who get into Price Waterhouse Coopers based on the fact that the you-need-experience-to-get-experience Catch 22 never applied to them because they just know everybody, because they went to private schools (did I mention I wasn't bitter?)

DOWN WITH HIGH ACHIEVERS!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!

Ah I'm cracking up. See, I can always rely on myself for a good chuckle.

Speaking of chuckling, laughter, and general merriment, our flat is having an early christmas tonight. Presents and pizza (we ate the chocolate Shani bought for tonight last night), and an exclusive performance of the dance routine Shani and I tried to choreograph last night. We didn't get very far, because we suck, but I promised her I would pull some original moves out of my arse while I was at work today in between reading The Diplomat and dreaming of being an admin assistant at DFAT and working my way up, and short sessions of inane but energetic blogging such as the one I'm presently engaged in.

Speaking of work, Becky passed on my CV to her boss today. Now I pray and wait with baited breath for any response at all, dreading the prospect of 1) ringing back in a week to ask them about it and then 2) being told they're not interested. As usual, I can't help feeling excited about the mere idea of it. But no, it will probably culminate in another Korea-esque anti-climax, not in fact strengthening my resolve to find a job when - according to popular fairytales of perseverance and eventual success - it should.

Today at work I came across a copy of The Bulletin from November 1996. I would have been just about to finish Year 7 at 'Horny' Girls High School.

The writing was more readable. 1996 would have been my year, had I been a journalist. The best part was the personals section at the back:

ARE YOU A BLOOMSBURYPHILE?
If you (like myself) are fascinated with the lives of Vanessa Bell, Virginia Woolf... Maynard Keynes and their friends/associates, I would love to hear from you.

I AM AN EX-AUSTRALIAN MAN in my fifties in good health, a non-smoker, light social drinker, self-employed businessman who has lived in Vanuatu 11 years. I would like to contact a well-educated lady 35-45 years, slim, outgoing, with a happy disposition who likes outdoors. This is James A. Michener's adventures in paradise and South Pacific. [Not sure what that last sentence is refering to].

And this is a crack-up:

AFFECTIONATE, VERY ATTRACTIVE 22-year-old woman who is a university graduate and a non-drinker, non-smoker with no ties is interested in meeting a gentleman with view to having a relationship and possibly marriage. Lives in Sydney.

Scary. These days, 22-year-old female uni grads who live in Sydney [clearing of throat] generally join rsvp.com and try their luck there...

She would be 32 now. I wonder if she found what she was looking for.

Robbie Williams is a good and I would gladly become his groupie-whore if only for one night.
Music-wise I prefered his 2003 concert but entertainment wise last night's was the bomb. He's a comedian when he's not singing. It was quite funny. In the beginning when the band was playing a bit of an intro he stood there and looked out at all the people in the stadium and mouthed 'fuck me'. Then two seconds later he said the word 'please?'. It was hilarious.
One girl flashed her tits and then after the song he got a camera to point at her and told her to do it so that everyone in the stadium could see it. She freaked out but did it anyway.
And he took a xmas card off someone and he read it out and it said 'i would love to meet you in person' so he stood on the stage and introduced himself. Hehe.
OK better get back to stapling invoices now.
Oh a job lead came up. I have to jazz up my resume and email it to Becky, who lived in the room I'm in now. She works at a project management company in Canberra. I would definitely move to Canberra for a job. I've never thought it was that bad a place. Let's just see what they think about an Arts degree with a major in mediocre Chinese.

Well cheerio it's 7.30 Sunday morning and I got home twenty minutes ago after a big night in kings cross with mel. We went to the bourbon and well we had too many adventures to talk about here so all I can say is that I got really drunk, I saw a side of Mel i had never seen before, and I danced like I've never danced before, well actually once before, in Seduce in Taiwan (Taiwan, of course) which involved shaking my fat bootie like Jennifer Lopez. I don't want to slander mel, but seriously, she was OUT - OF - CONTROL. She disappeared for an hour, which I spent waiting at the dance floor for her, worried sick because I had her bag with me, then I went searching and discovered she was in the other room flirting with these two guys.

Well I'm too drunk to write details so i'll talk about my glorious session with my new personal trainer. i swear, everyone should get a personal trainer. it was gentle, yet firm. he monitored my heart rate the whole time and when it got to 190, (really bad) he was like yeah let's stop running now... but he said my resting heart rate was great, and he was impressed with my abs performance.

i should go to sleep coz i've got robbie williams at 7 tonight, and i have to work on monday but i'm not tired.

Good night/morning.

2 minutes later...

i'm tired now thank god but i might just have one more cigarette and enjoy the sunshine at 7.30 which is a time i'm never up at. thank god. i am not a morning person. don't mess with me in the morning. in fact bed is THE place to be for me right now.

I'm stapling invoices again. This time I'm limiting myself to one archive box per day, because I'm certain I'll develop arthritis from all the repetitive movements my hands and fingers are making. I often imagine I'm a 13 year old Chinese girl working in a Nike sweatshop fuck I crack myself up.

Speaking of cracking myself up I got a hilarious email from my sister this morning saying I had just put all the clothes under the bed, and how my bed-making skills really suck etc. It was quite funny and because I am having one hell of a shitty day today, I just think of that email and chuckle to myself and totally get cheered up.

I'm having a shitty day because I got five hours sleep and am slightly hung over. I also asked Kuba out and he said no, now I don't even know what I was thinking, because I knew he would say no. I think I just wanted to tell him I liked him. Because life is too short to not tell someone how you feel. And I like to think I seize the day, mostly.

I came home at about 6am and I was going to stay up and watch tv and have breakfast, but I decided to try my luck at getting an extra hour's or so sleep. Well I got a little bit, and had bloody bizarre dreams about my little finger falling off and a puddle of water on the floor creeping up the wall, and an aunt that doesn't exist staying in our house and then us moving her downstairs (where the puddle of water was) and her getting really angry. And my Mum was like 20 years old and was shouting at her.

Oh another thing, I sounded like the biggest dork today. One of the girls asked me what I was doing on the weekend and I said I was staying home to watch a doco on Mao Zedong on SBS. Wow aren't I just the coolest.

I read a Dolly magazine today. Can't believe I had a subscription when I was twelve. One of the headings on the front cover was "Do your friends know more about sex than you do?" Jesus christ man who the hell writes that shit? Well some of my flatmates didn't know what a Cleveland steamer was, not that I believe shitting on someone is in anyway even sexual!

Oh my god I'm just cracking myself up again. My biological father said "You are your own best friend in life" and well I say, yes, I can always rely on myself for a good laugh!!!!!

Oh god I'm cracking up again. Breathe.

Our flat is doing a Kris Kringle. Last night we eagerly speculated on who was buying for whom. I stayed tight-lipped about how I am buying for. But anyway the conversation turned intellectual (after talking about prostitutes, steaming Clevelands and BDSM) when we started bitching about the Liberals. It was refreshing. We also figured out how old Calvin was after him keeping it a strictly guarded secret for so long.

Tonight I'm meeting with my new personal trainer. I met him on rsvp, and I hope he doesn't crack on to me or something. That would spell disaster for my plans to get fit. Rose and I tried to figure out why you need to be able to do situps to be a cop. Like, in the movies, you don't see cops taking time out during an arrest to lie down and start working out.

And finally, Lipton Early Grey sucks, Twinings is the best.

I put ten bucks into the chocolate thing. Yay.

I woke up late again this morning but somehow I made it to work with 5 minutes to spare - I officially made it from my house to Milson's Point in 35 minutes. A new record!

I've added a comments option to my blog so everytime I sound like a total jerk, the dear reader can anonymously tell me so.

Something HAD to be done about my room: Here are all the clothes that were all over the place, chucked on my bed for 'processing'.

The finished product, after one hour of a serious clothing collection overhaul:

I'm so jealous, my old flatmate Christine whom I lived with in Taiwan is off the be Deputy Marketing Manager of the ...get this... MYANMAR TIMES!!!!!!! She is one person I could get some career advice off.
How awesomely awesome is that???

In other news, there's a charity box of fun size chocolates on the front desk. At first I paid for them and then I well... stopped. But man, they are smaller than funsize, at the rip-off price of 70c each. I mean, I do plan on making a big donation, but at the moment, it's not happening. Anyway I've gone through all the cherry ripes, now I'm onto the time outs. Shhh!

I was 10 minutes late for work this morning, because I was having an awesome dream.
I was working at a place that was a mix between Elton (where I got fired from) and Elgas (where I am now and it's all good). Anyway, senior management fell in love with me, recognised my awesome talent and said I should stay so I can get promoted later. Judy the evil office manager (the one who fired me) was in her office and I pointed at her and told them she wanted to fire me. They said not to worry about that, they would rather have me than her, so they called her out of her office and sat her down with me there. They told her she was fired, and because I am such a lady, I left the room to save her the extra humiliation of having me there to smirk at her. Susan, the other receptionist who was the one that kept complaining about me to Judy, still had her job, so I tried to make friends with her, by going with her to this coke dispensing machine like the ones they have at Maccas, and helping myself to a strawberry slushy. Then I woke up at 10 to nine when I should have been half way to Central station.

Robbie Williams on Sunday yay, at Aussie stadium which is near me.

Hm what else is new, oh, I made a xmas tree out of green cardboard. It's floppy now and hardly stands up but hey it's green.

Going to Pink in May next year. Man, these singers have their whole years planned out ahead of them. I hope they get paid accordingly.

Have decided to do the trans-siberian followed by Germany, France, and the UK, in a year's time. Kuba thought it was a bit sad that I was getting excited about it when it was a year away - he's like, he never knows where he'll be or what he'll be doing in a year's time.

Anyway it will be fucking awesome because it will be like minus 50 outside and there'll probably be noone to speak English to the whole time. Kuba reckons you just need to be prepared to drink alot of vodka because everyone shares it around.

Then again I might do it in the opposite direction then stay in China and teach English or something. Or do it in the original direction and stay in London and be a receptionist again. Choices choices. Am I over Asia now? Could well be. If only I could speak proper French, then I could work there. Ideas ideas ideas I am going to crazyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

This year is coming to an end. Let's sum it up in a few sentences.

Financially it was an absolute disaster, spending my precious savings and ending up with 0 in the bank and $20 in my wallet on my worst day.

Career wise, it's also been an absolute disaster, falling not only off the rails, but off the bridge, into the water below, and feeling the very bottom of the river bed with my toes. And, here I am

stuffing envelopes for a living.

Yeah yeah yeah, so I was warned life never turns out the way you plan it to, but COME ON!
The only thing I've really learnt this year, which noone ever taught me at school or in uni, was that you have to be proactive in life to achieve anything. I keep thinking, later I'll sit down and send off cover letters and resumes to every company in Sydney, but I fucking absolutely DREAD the prospect of writing stupid cover letters that sound like the prize-winning ones on the UNSW careers website. And I think, everyone else has the same idea, the same qualifications and MORE (e.g they were President of the Caremelised Onion and Blue Cheese on Crackers Eating Society from 2003-04 and Junior World Champion of Being a Preppy Law/Finance Student Who Was Advantaged from the Day They Were Fucking Born) and let's face it, I am a small fish in a big, big pond baby. In highschool you think you're king of the world because your teacher says you're gifted in languages, then you go to uni and realise the whole Arts faculty is full of people just like you who were so passionate about it they chose languages over commerce or something. You learn Chinese and everyone goes wow that is so different and then you go to China and you find there's a whole society of people there for the sole reason of learning Chinese. The world is a big place, I'm afraid, and it's sink or swim. Granted I live in a cushy first-world country and would never have to steal or beg, but higher up on the heirarchy of needs, to gain any intellectual satisfaction out of life you have to fight your fat arse off, because news flash, there are millions of people as smart as you. It ain't no Henry Kendall High School cooking class out there.

Moving downstairs into #29 was an excellent decision. Bravo for me. Have reached a point where I am comfortable enough to be myself (to a certain degree - I still have to restrain myself sometimes). Calvin said this year has been his happiest year in a long time, and it's been good for me too. Because I'm so shy outside home I tend to overcompensate for it at home, speaking my mind, suggesting what I think is a better idea all the time etc. I think I come across alright though... I hope.

Last night I went out with some girls from uni. Listen, I don't care what anyone says, no matter where I fucking go whether it's a Guomindang indoctrination weekend camp in central Taichung or a clothes shop in Dong Bie , Chinese girls are all b-i-t-c-h-e-s. Except a couple. Ahem.

I fucking give up man.

Love

I cracked - I postponed the test till mid Feb. Having a two-week deadline was effective for motivation.... two and a half months means I'll probably just go jogging once a fortnight then freak out before it finally comes. But I've got a friend who is a personal trainer and I'm willing to fork out for it just for those two months. I'm definitely not a gym person. No way. The day I drag myself to the gym without being offered $10 000 to do so is the day Catina qualifies to get her stomach stapled.
But what I will do is practise my 35 situps in 90 seconds. I JUST made it last night when Shani timed me. I'm not sure how to practise doing pushups when I can't even do one. I mean, what do I do, just hold my body up and think about it?
