Back in Tumut, yay!
Got here last night at 10, and happily found everone still up with visitors drinking and having a gay old time. Received a royal welcome, Shane and Kate and Hunter had a literally raced to be the first to give me a hug :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Got drunk, woke up this morning and after gulping down a glass of water watched it come back up again and more.
Haven't seen my bile in a while. Nice to know it's still yellow and acidic, still effectively working hard down there in my stomach to mulch all my food. I think it's an interesting experience to have your bile come up to say hello, if you are curious about something that is such a vital function inside your body.
But throwing up is absolutely awful, and once again I thought of Catina, who told me she never put any weight on because she 'exercised' in her room at night when everyone was asleep. Sometimes I fantasise that I had a spare million dollars around that I could give to her family so they could send her to one of those clinics that cost several thousands of dollars a day. Why should it be so expensive to save a life? Granted, Catina didn't want to get better - at all. But if she did eventually die, you could say that more was done than relying on the public health system where she became a monster stealing food from people's rooms and begging money off other patients' visitors. She asked me if I thought she could be a model. Man. For her to get better, a nurse would have had to handcuff themselves to her 24-7. I'm sure there was plenty of ethical debate over Catina's case, or perhaps they already had a set of guidelines - eg. 'we know she throws up but this is a free country' and 'she wants to die but there's only so far we can go to stop her'.
