So it's three o'clock in the afternoon. There's a knock on the door as I carve the flesh out of two halves of an eggplant.
It's Ian, the Trinidadian from downstairs.
-I've got two tickets to the Stones, do you want to come?
So I think to myself, 'the Stones? Who? Oh.
-The Rolling Stones? Um, well...
-They're VIP tickets.
-When?
-Today.
- VIP? Ahhh, why not!

So at five we set off with hopes of meeting or brushing shoulders with someone famous. We had to figure out where to pick up the tickets then none of the ushers knew where to send us. We were told to go to Level 0 West. At Level 0 West, we were told we couldn't go in, because that was backstage. Then he got verification, and let us in! So off we went exchanging big secret smiles wondering if it would be just like in the movies. Well, we never saw the band but we were allowed into this room that had some serious, hard-core catering. All the beer and wine you could poke a stick at and gourmet food like yabbies, balmain bugs, kangaroo, and this spectacular banana pudding with gourmet chocolates on plate next to them. So that was our big VIP experience. As for our seats, we were six rows from the front and next to the catwalk. As for the music, I sat down during most of it because it did not interest me. As for how he got the tickets, Mick Jagger hangs out in Trinidad alot and became friends with Ian's sister. So Ian's sister emailed Mick Jagger and Mick Jagger told his PA to arrange the tickets for Ian. Wow man. Six degrees of seperation. The guy next to us in the audience told us how he got his tickets: his boss's brother's wife is Mick Jagger's daughter! If only I had had VIP tickets for Michael Jackson or Robbie Williams. NOW that would have been something to scream about.
