It is only on the days following nights of drinking
That I feel a particular calm
It begins in the afternoon
The waves cease rolling
And ripples in the water flatten out
Like an easter egg wrapper
I asked him what’s the world all about?
But his English wasn’t good enough to understand
all about.
From tomorrow morning
The ocean will circulate once again
A drop of water will begin its journey
From my toothbrush
To a bowl of hot water served to guests at Karakul Lake
It’s a permanent state of affairs
The world has its rules
But on these days,
The world stops.
See, I can be a poet too :-)
