I'm running out of dreams! Dream #1 was to live overseas. Done. Dream #2 was to have a job that involves travel. I always thought that might come alot later when I'm like the CEO of Lizwa Consulting International or something. But hey it's happening already - I'm currently looking into hotels for Seoul and Taipei and have made all the appointments with agents etc. Ok so what next?
Being around my boss, who is just glad (I think) that she doesn't have to fly to Seoul in the middle of the night and hit the ground running with no time to rest, catching the subway all over the city with no hope of being able to decipher Korean... she does not see the glamour in it at all, and well it's becoming contageous. I arrive in Seoul from Taipei on a Monday morning (I'm flying through the night), land at 11.45am, and have my first appointment at 2.30pm. Which leaves no time to chill out at my hotel or anything. Then appointments all day every day until Friday evening when I fly home. So no time to do any sightseeing. But in Taipei, I have two and half days of appointments, then have a whole weekend free. This, I am aboslutely stoked about. And the hotel in Taipei that we're thinking about has a rooftop garden and a jacuzzi. I allowed myself to appear excited about this to my boss (I'm trying to act cool as a cucumber about the whole thing even though I am only just containing my excitement) and then she decided she would have to have more input on the budget so I don't go crazy booking expensive hotels - infering that initially the budget was up to me. Like, wow. It's a strange job in general really. I collect the mail every day which makes me almost an office junior, but on the other hand, I get control over the sales and marketing budget. Kind of.
Which leads me to... My boss keeps mentioning that in the budget, which ends in September, there's all this money that has to be spent on sales trips. So the other day when she mentioned it again, she said Turkey was on the cards. Like dude, if I go to Turkey, I am soooooo demanding an extra week for myself. Kuby's gonna fly over from the UK and we're going to have a royal romp on the Mediterranean.
I'm arriving in Taipei on my birthday. Happy birthday to me!
